Jan Maksymiuk translated the novel from New Norwegian (landsmål, nynorsk) into Podlachian (Svoja) in 2005.

It has not been clearly confirmed by Jan anywhere but the purported reason for the translation may be his discovery of some parallels between the fortunes of New Norwegian and Podlachian as „rural” languages.
